Next to the CUERO, which shows off every pore and every vein in the Alpine grass, this black covers them up: from a metre away you read the silhouette before the material. Round toe with a reinforcing seam, straight shaft finishing just above the ankle, wide sole. Up close it changes. The uneven grain breaks the black and turns it grey along the creases of the instep, where the leather folds as you walk, and the shine is low, closer to wax than to patent. Over the months that flex zone lightens and forms a fan of wrinkles that never goes away again.
