Birkenstock Size Guide
Birkenstock footwear is sized in European sizing. If you already know your Birkenstock size, start there. If not, use the conversion chart below as a starting point and then
choose the width that best matches your foot.

Choose Your Width
Birkenstock width is an important part of the fit.
- Regular: best for medium to wide feet
- Narrow: best for narrow to medium feet
In general, the Narrow width works for many women, while the Regular width is usually better for broader feet or anyone who wants a roomier fit.
After You Buy
Check the Fit
- Your heel should sit comfortably inside the heel cup
- Your toes should not press against the front edge of the footbed
- There should be a small amount of space in front of the toes and behind the heel
- The arch support and toe bar should feel present, but not painful
Break Them In Gradually
- Start with shorter wear sessions around the house.
- Keep straps comfortably secure, but not too tight at first
- Increase wear time gradually as the footbed starts to shape to your feet
- Make small strap adjustments as the sandals begin to mold to your foot
